4/2/2023 0 Comments Fn 49 serial numbersThis one, for example, went for $655 shipped. I based my decision to pursue this rifle on the fact that almost literally every completed gunbroker auction is a refinished Century parts gun with a butt-ugly plain puke brown stained 'hardwood' stock with a plastic buttplate. The bore is actually pretty nice for what you'd expect from corrosive Egyptian 8mm. Furthermore, there is absolutely no evidence of an import mark anywhere.Īside from the one apparently mismatched part, the only other flaws are a darkish bore and a little chip in the bolt on the outward side of the ejector slot. It also still has the tiny little lock screws that hold the action screws in place, the original brass butt plate and grading(?) disk. The serial number is just below 7000 and since the receiver has the serial number in both Latin and Arabic, I know the Arabic numbers on the bolt, barrel, and the rest all match. Some pre-1972 FN FAL rifles are marked with another serial number in the magazine well that may reflect the total number of FN FAL produced to date of. Everything else appears to be 100% original. I can't tell if the characters on the side of it are meant to be numbers or not, but if they are, they don't match the number on all the rest of the parts. It appears to be all original with the exception of the action top cover/rear sight base. I just ran out and picked up this Egyptian FN-49 off of a ad.
